Happiness, Hope, Heath & Halicki… <3
There are so many reasons on why this dainty, little necklace means oh so much to me. After Paul & I were married, I saw this Maya Brenner H necklace & asked for it for Valentine’s day. Not expecting to get it, but it would be on my list until I did. 😉
To me, being just an “H” necklace is not all that it symbolizes. When you take pride in a piece of clothing, jewelry, art, etc. it becomes more than what it is. It becomes a part of you.
In my heart this necklace is a daily reminder to be Happy. Happiness comes few & far between. It isn’t something that everyone has, it’s something that everyone has to create for themselves. We have a daily choice to be happy, to see the better in life, people & situations. So, I choose to be Happy.
It’s also a daily reminder to have Hope. Hope for the best, hope for the better, hope for the future. My faith is with God & I pray for hope. Hope for a better tomorrow, hope for a better world, hope for a better outlook on life, & so much more. So, I choose Hope.
This necklace is also a daily reminder to keep our Health at a priority. Paul & I work out at least 3-4 times a week, if not more on our good weeks. Especially now with being pregnant! We eat healthy but of course, love to splurge too! Who doesn’t?! Regardless of the day we’ve both had, I try to keep a healthy balance of nutritional foods stocked at all times. Whether it’s fruits, veggies, sandwiches, bars, etc. My goal is to keep ourselves healthy, that way, it becomes easier as we grow our family. We don’t take our health for granted, no one should, because we are blessed to be healthy & active. So, I choose Health.
Finally, this necklace is a daily reminder of who I am. I am a wife, soon-to-be mommy, dog mommy, daughter, sister, niece, cousin, & friend. I stood before our family & friends & vowed to cherish, honor & love the man that stood across from me, for better or for worse. This necklace is a reminder to cherish the name that I married into. Daily life gets in the way, I get it, everyone gets it. Marriage isn’t all fun & sleepovers with your best friend. It’s something you work at, every day. Every marriage is different, & I’m no one to judge anyone on how they do life with their partner. However, the rings on my left hand are my vows. Much like everyone else. Yet, this necklace, it’s another piece that keeps me grateful & honored to be married & to have his last name & be able to wear it around my neck. For when people ask me, “What does the H stand for?”, I respond with “My last name is Halicki.”
Now, that we are expecting. We plan to have our first born’s name start with an H.
So now, this necklace will mean a whole lot more. (:
